Sun Lingye is the founding director of Wilderness Medical Associates International (Asia) and one of the founders of the Chinese outdoor education pioneer Yangshuo Dadi Tribe Co., Ltd.
Sun spent six consecutive years studying in the US and Canada, to bring the concept of “Wilderness Medicine” to China. Whilst in the US, he was invited to teach wilderness medicine courses at Princeton University and Bowdoin College in the United States.
Because of his rich medical experience, he was accepted onto a mission to Antarctica as a medical consultant for Shantou University’s Antarctic expedition team in February 2014. He has traveled to many countries and is familiar with different forms of outdoor sports. In addition, he has also worked as a mountain guide, rock climbing coach, experiential training instructor, large-scale outdoor competition organizer, and was responsible for the project management of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Sun is passionate about mountaineering, rock climbing, surfing and skiing.
Sun is a guest instructor with X3SI, teaching WMA’s wilderness medicine courses.
