The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and X3SI Sdn Bhd are pleased to announce the appointment of X3SI as MMA’s preferred partner for the delivery of CPR & AED, BLS, and BLS Instructor training.
This strategic partnership will ensure access to high-quality BLS training for MMA’s members across all 13 states and three federal territories. Importantly, it will also remove barriers for members to maintain current certification in BLS – a critical life-saving skill.
Dr Sugumar Samogam, Chairman of the MMA CPR committee said, “We aim to elevate the basic life-saving qualifications and competencies of our members, and are pleased to be working with X3SI towards this aim.”
In addition to providing training opportunities to MMA’s members, X3SI will train and accredit BLS instructors from among MMA’s members, allowing them to promulgate these critical skills out into their communities.
President of the MMA, Dr Koh Kar Chai, added, “Basic life-saving skills are so important, not just to medical professionals, but the general community at large. The MMA’s partnership with X3SI will elevate the knowledge and capabilities of the community. CPR saves lives and the more of us who can perform this skill, competently the better.”
Mr Damien Santer, Director of X3SI said, “It is an honour and privilege to work hand-in-hand with MMA to ensure its members are certified and ready to help in the case of cardiac arrest and other immediately life-threatening conditions.
“However, it’s the community aspect that is really exciting. Some 70% of sudden cardiac arrests occur in the home and another almost 20% occur in public places. Immediate bystander CPR dramatically increases the chances of survival. Putting these skills in the hands of the community will save lives.”
The MMA is Malaysia’s largest professional representative body for medical practitioners. X3SI is a Malaysian organisation specialising in first aid, pre-hospital, emergency, and austere medical education to the public, industrial and medical sectors. Additionally, X3SI provides qualified medical and paramedical practitioners for austere and wilderness medical projects and consults to diverse organisations on training needs analysis, emergency and disaster preparedness, medical screening, travel medicine, evacuation and retrieval, facility design and management, and incident review.
